CCHERS is partnering with the Boston Housing Authority and other community-based organizations in the HEART target area to recruit long-term unemployed individuals (3-5 years unemployed) for enrollment in a training program leading to a home health aide certificate. At the conclusion of the training, HCAF awards a home health aide certificate to participants who have successfully completed the training by passing a skills test and a written test, and meeting program requirements. This program also includes a financial literacy and jobs skills workshop titled the PHCAST training. The program lasts 6 weeks and covers leadership skills, home care aide training and more. At the conclusion of this training program participants will receive a certificate proving they passed the program.
Long-term unemployed residents of Boston Public Housing and publicly assisted housing, from Chinatown through the South End and Roxbury and Mission Hill to Jamaica Plain.
