Program provides classroom education through lectures, films, training videos, class discussions, and activities. Skills training includes caring for vulnerable populations (elderly, chronic conditions, and diseases among all ages and developmental stages) such as nutrition and feeding, hygiene and grooming, comfort, communication, infection control, and safety. Students also engage in personal patient care during required clinical rotations at a nursing home and/or hospital.
10-week evening classes, 7-week day classes
Program Courses: Schedules are variable and are based on college courses. Some classes may be offered in the evening and on weekends. The clinical practicum will require a 3-week, 40-hour per week commitment or a 6-week, 20-hour per week commitment.
