Path to Work is designed to help SNAP clients living in the Greater Springfield, MA area in Hampden County increase work readiness and employability through education and skills training while meeting the Able-Bodied Adults Without Dependents (ABAWD) Work Program requirement. The program provides: outreach/ recruitment, intake/assessment, ABE/High School Equivalency Test (HiSET) Prep, skills training (Customer Service Certification, Internet Basics, Keyboarding, Data Entry, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel), and job readiness training via a variety of resources including Career Ready 101. Counseling/case management services are also provided to support client progress and program retention. Program curriculum and services are customized to meet the individual needs/interests of participants.
Through this program, clients are able to gain skills leading to a High School Equivalency Credential, a Customer Service Certification via the National Retail Federation, and a National Career Readiness Certificate.
his program was designed for SNAP recipients aged 18 and over who are subject to the ABAWD requirements and reside in the Greater Springfield area, including: Springfield, Ware, Belchertown, Agawam, Chester, Chicopee, East Longmeadow, Granville, Hampden, Holland, Longmeadow, Ludlow, Monson, Montgomery, Palmer, W. Springfield, Wales, Westfield, Wilbraham, and other surrounding towns. However, non-ABAWDs may also participate in the program.
